I’m delighted to announce the creation of Bawdy Zebra, a new digital media production company. While Bawdy Zebra is going to be encompass a large number of digital ventures, it shall primarily be focused on the creation of high-quality media-rich digital books. Initially the Apple iPad will be targeted with other devices to follow. Bawdy Zebra will also release some less media-intensive but equally awesome products for the Kindle and, in some cases, dead-tree.
Bawdy Zebra has one goal; to bring exceptional products from exceptional people telling exceptional stories or delivering an exceptional message. Bawdy Zebra will be different.
So what’s in store for Bawdy Zebra?
Along with the announcement of Bawdy Zebra’s creation, I’m delighted to announce the release of the iPad edition of There Are Other Rivers by Alastair Humphreys. Alastair, who was nominated for National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, walked across India from coast to coast following the course of one of the seven holy rivers. It’s a fantastic read and a far cry from your typical blow-by-blow, vaguely-unbelievable-problem-by-vaguely-unbelievable-problem, day-by-day accounts typical of most of the travel genre. There is a free sample available here so if you have an iPad, do check it out. The Bawdy Zebra produced version features more than 80 full colour, full page photos as well as the full text of the book. If you don’t have an iPad, the kindle version is also available so check that out here.
What else is in the works? Bawdy Zebra currently has seven (!) products in production or pre-production as well as three non-book digital ventures: Bawdy Zebra design and two others that must remain secret for now. All ten current, and future, projects will be announced here in due time.
This is an exciting time for me and I’d like to thank everyone who has made it possible; my friends, family and now, you, the potential customer.
